Air Mata Fatimah (2015)
Hamda, a widow left by her husband, is struggling to support herself and her only daughter, Fatimah. Their lives are excluded from other villagers, because Hamda work as prostitute. Hamda is often cornered in a awkward position at the request of her daughter: the Qur’an holy book, mukena (veil), prayer mats, and books of Islamic lesson.
The village’s respected and esteemed religious leader, Ustad Ali Daud, sends his son, Ichsanudin, to teach Fatimah about Islam. This effort is utilized by Harunsyah, the rival of Ali Daud in getting Hamda when they were young. Harunsyah incite the villagers that Ustad Ali Daud has special relationship with Hamda. He also proclaims that Ichsanudin has done immoral deeds with Fatimah.
To convince the villagers Fatimah has to be tested by reading the holy Quran verses in the presence of all the villagers and experts. If Fatimah can not read the Quran, the four victims of slander would be persecuted. Villagers will bury them up to their neck, throw stones, and they will be expelled from the village.
