Early 2000, Sani Tawainela, former Indonesian U-15 National Team in the Students Asian Cup 1996, who fail to become professional player, suffers major shock. He witnesses a child is shot in in an armed clash in Ambon. Sani who returns to Tulehu, his native village within 25 kilometers from the city of Ambon and make a living as a motorcycle taxi driver, sees the involvement of children in religious conflict in Maluku.
Sani then holds a football training to distract the children from the conflict. Sani invites Hari Lestaluhu, former professional football player who has returned home due to injury. Sani asks Hari to form a simple football school armed with their knowledge.
In the midst of a chaotic situation and with all the economic constraints, Sani still trains the children for years. In 2006 the condition in Maluku begin conducive. The football school football built by Sani and Hari is still running. The trained kids grow into talented young football players. But, Sani and Hari are broken up their partnership, Hari claims that the football school is his and his family, Sani is furious and resigns.
In a football competition between villages Sani’s team face Hari’s in the final round. Hari’s teams come out as champion, but Sani is appointed to train the team of Maluku. After passing through the problems, the team is finally able to depart following the national competition in Jakarta. However, his decision to mix children of different religions in one team actually invites discord.
