Jin Galunggung (1982)
Bayukusuma is accused of commiting adultery with his girlfriend Sekarwangi. This accusation is levelled by Parno whose love is rejected by Sekarwangi. Then Bayukusuma and Sekarwangi are punished by the villagers. Soon natural disasters such as hurricanes and typhoons occur, but both of them are safe. Then, Parno once again incites the villagers that the disasters are inflicted by Bayukusuma. The villagers are furious. They throw Bayukusuma into a ravine. He survives and meets the Galunggung Genie who help him if he becomes one of his disciples. Bayukusuma declines and the genie is displeased. Bayukusuma is buried in the sand to suffer even more. Meanwhile, Sekarwangi accepts Parno’s hand in order to seek revenge. She stabs Parno and escapes. She jumps into the ravine where Bayukusuma was previously thrown into. Bayukusuma can no longer help Sekarwangi so he finally accepts the genie’s offer. The Galunggung Genie’s spirit enters Bayukusuma’s body and he becomes strong and is able to save Sekarwangi. Then he goes to the village and kills Parno and his men. But Bayusukma is shot by the police when the Galunggung Genie’s spirit leaves his body.
