Village girl, Elvy marries Budi, a botanist working in Elvy’s village, inspite of opposition from his family. They have been married for only three months when Budi is sent abroad to work on a project. During his absence, Elvy is tortured by the family, to the point of getting kicked out of the house. The only person who stands up for her is her housemaid. Elvy then stays with a friend from the same village. But in this house, she is badly treated by her friend’s wife. After the birth of her child, Elvy has nowhere to go. Then when he returns, Budi’s family influences him to despise Elvy. One day, Budi accidentally meets his child who is now a street musician. From his housemaid, he hears the real story. At the end, Elvy and Budi are reunited. The dangdut songs are sung by the lead actress, Elvy Sukaesih, while the story resembles an Indian Bollywood film.
